Community Baptist Teens

Yesterday we took eight teens from our church to a rally in North Raleigh at AbdelnorsBethany Hills Teen GroupMikaylaBaptist Church, and we had a great time! It was our first “official” youth activity, and the teens seemed to really love it. They seemed to bond together and to open up to us. Several folks commented on how open some of GirlstSeanhem were even at church on Sunday morning. Jonathan Rodgers is the assistant pastor at BHBC, and he works with the youth. He planned a one-day Cola Wars with evangelist Bryan Samms coming to run the event, and invited our little group to come too.

BrettOne of our teens brought a visitor to the activity, and she was saved on Saturday evening!!! Sarah had the joy of leading her to the Lord, and Steve had the privilege of leading another young man from North Raleigh to the Lord. We both were used to bring a soul into the kingdom of God on the same night! What a blessing. You can imagine the rejoicing at our house!
Today, we spent the afternoon with Dave, Sara, Wes, Wil and Skye Mincy. The Lord has called them to our church to lead the music, but they are still living in Asheboro – a good two hours away from Clayton. We had such a sweet time together. They seem like an extension of our own little family, and we are VERY excited that they are going to be a part of our church family! The Barbas are leaving soon to move to a new ministry, so we are especially thrilled that the Lord has given us a “music man” without even a “gap” in between!
Sunday night after Bible Study, Pastor, Nancy, MiKayla, Ashlyn, Hudson, Debbie B., Kim, Penne, Tina, Claudia and Jeremiah all came over for simple ham sandwiches and chips (and the dread red Crystal Light – ha!). It is amazing how warm and refreshing Christian fellowship can be, even around plain food and after a long, tiring day. The LORD has been so gracious to us to give us such a close church family here!
